Lava is a lightweight and porous volcanic rock that has similar properties to pumice – it also improves the structure of the potting mix increasing drainage and airflow. Lava rocks can be also added to the bottom of the pot as a drainage layer.

No Perlite

Perlite requires a significant amount of energy to produce. We choose pumice, which is more sustainable and does not rise to the top of the pot.
